SYNOPSIS: SERIES ROMANCE |4++| Ashley Haney REVIEW: THE HUSBAND SHE COULDN’T FORGET is a heart-wrenching novel penned by Carmen Green. Melanie Bishop was thrown into shock when she is served divorce papers. After not being able to reach her husband Deion, Melanie signs the papers, packs up, and moves to Kentucky. She takes a job as a therapist at a rehabilitation center and meets Rolland Jones. Rolland is a traumatic brain injury patient that is further advanced than his doctors expected him to be. Rolland and Melanie are forced into close quarters where they move from a professional to personal relationship. When the truth behind Rolland’s identity become known, will Rolland and Melanie be able to accept the past and build on the future or will the wounds of the past be too wide to heal?
Melanie Bishop loves her domineering husband and will do anything to make him happy. She’s cut off ties with her family and friends, no longer works, and has moved into a house that she doesn’t like. The only things Melanie wants are a baby and more time with her husband. She is shocked when she receives divorce papers and moves back to her home state to try and rebuild her life without Deion. Rolland Jones is a compassionate man who has suffered a great loss, his memory. Due to a horrific car accident, he has no idea who he is. He only remembers snippets of his past but he can’t recall his name or who his family is. He’s had to learn everything from scratch; letters, words, numbers, cooking, and driving. On the road to recovery he meets his last therapist, Melanie. He loves Melanie and can’t understand why they can’t be together. Rolland works hard to learn the skills he needs and the way to win Melanie. As he discovers his true identity and his past deeds, he must convince Melanie to take a second chance at love.
The story begins in Atlanta and moves to Kentucky. The supporting characters are influential in helping Melanie and Rolland. The dialogue allows the story to move smoothly and keep the story interesting.
