SYNOPSIS:  Zoe McNight has sworn off blind dates, despite her recent white-hot dalliance with Ben Hood. Now Zoe needs Ben's investigative expertise to save her jewelry business. Ben desperately wants Zoe, but he's willing to play it cool to catch a thief--and perhaps Zoe's heart.

SERIES ROMANCE |4| Keren Childers

REVIEW:  Zoe McNight is the owner of an upscale jewelry and gem boutique facing some problems with theft. Hiring Hood Investigation Services to find the culprit, only makes matters worse when once again she meets Ben Hood, a blast from the past. Zoe is determined to put diamonds and not desire first on her agenda. Problem is her heart isn’t listening. Can Zoe stay strong or will she let a man back into her life?

Ms. Green introduces two emotional characters in Zoe and Ben. Zoe is a delicate flower right now after a bad marriage and has trust issues. Ben is a man that reads people well and goes after what he wants. Zoe wants to love again, but it takes too much to find the right man. I loved her ambition and how she put everything she had in her business. Only thing is that doesn’t keep you warm at night. Ben is a man that puts everything on the table and I liked that about him. Some women may be intimated by that since it doesn’t happen that often.

The plot was mysterious and exciting and kept the story going. The main characters connected well. Sometimes Zoe cried a little too much for me and that became annoying. The love scenes were sizzling hot. The jewelry designs made you want to go out and purchase a piece. The secondary characters gave the story twists, turns and excitement. I would love to see a series with: Rob Hood, Zach Hood and the sisters Mel and Zan. This family was a hot mess and really entertained throughout the story. Now that sister of Zoe’s, Faye is another story in itself. She may need a story of her own to straighten her attitude out.

Overall, Ms. Green did a good job and I would recommend reading
THE PERFECT SOLITAIRE.
