REVIEW:  Shirley Hailstock does a remarkable job on THE RIGHT WEDDING GOWN, the sequel to last years WRONG DRESS RIGHT GUY. Samara Scott does not believe in marriage thanks to her parents rocky one, her friends that have gone through divorce, and marriage statistics. Justin Beckett admits that he made a bad first impression with Samara but he is determined to make up for it and make her believe in love and marriage.

Samara works for the National Archives as an apprentice documentalist. She goes to an auction with a friend and bids on a trunk in hopes that there are letters or papers inside. Instead Samara finds an old wedding gown. Samara is repulsed by all things that are related to weddings and marriages and is determined that love and marriage are not for her. Strikes 1 and 2, Justin is divorced and failed to mention that he and his wife were separated when he first met Samara years ago. Strike 3, Justin works for the Office of Emergency Operations which means he’s on call 24-7 causing him to either miss dates he’s planned with Samara or leave just as the date gets started. Can Justin convince Samara to trust her heart and their love and take a leap of faith that their relationship will beat the odds or are they destined to spend their lives apart because of Samara’s fears?

The supporting characters contribute to the story. Their personal relationships help impact Samaras views on love and marriage and the advice they give help to shape her opinions about herself and Justin. The dialogue in this story is interesting and moves at a good pace. The story takes place in Washington D.C. There is a trip to visit Justin’s family that helps add to Justin and Samaras relationship.

I would recommend this novel. Shirley Hailstock does an amazing job of telling the story of Samara and Justin who she first introduced in WRONG DRESS, RIGHT GUY, which I would recommend you also read to gain a better understanding of these characters.
