UNFINISHED BUSINESS - Brenda Jackson St. Martin's Press April 2005
SYNOPSIS: The Madaris family returns in this follow-up to THE MIDNIGHT HOUR. When the story that reporter Christy Madaris is working on takes a dangerous turn, her brothers ask private investigator--and Christy's former love--Alex Maxwell to keep an eye on her. CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE: (4) Tricia-Ann Blades | REVIEW #2 REVIEW: Brenda Jackson has done it again! UNFINISHED BUSINESS is a sexy, passion-filled, emotionally packed novel that lights the fire in the heart of the reader. Continuing the Madaris Saga, Brenda weaves a story of true love, able to withstand the test of time, pride and stubborn will.
This story surrounds the youngest of the Madaris clan, Christy. Physically protected all her life, Christy has never had to bother about a thing! However, no one can protect the heart. Believing a childhood promise and swearing herself to one man almost destroyed her once. Christy must now deal with the reappearance of that true love after running from the pain of heartbreak for the last three years. Distance brings them together and danger threatens to drive them apart.
Alex Maxwell is emotionally scarred, but ultimate control is the main key of his life; ice surrounds his heart and nothing can break through or even chip its surface or so Alex thinks. His passion drives him almost to the point where it almost consumes him but still he fights to maintain the tough exterior. This façade, however, is destroyed when the woman he loves with all his being is placed in a life threatening situation and he realizes that he may lose the one woman he could ever love!
The use of the other members of the Madaris clan adds spice to the novel, reminding the reader of the powerful love that exists among the couples within this clan.
Passion sizzles and fires are lit. UNFINISHED BUSINESS is sexy and seductive; an unforgettable read! tricia@romanceincolor.com (3rd March 2005)
