REVIEW:  Nell Evans has always wanted to leave her hometown of Wayloo, Mississippi for the bright lights of New York City, but she was stuck working in the family diner and taking care of her overprotective, ailing grandmother. Nell’s self-image is at an all time low after years of being rejected by the males of Wayloo because she’s a full-figured woman who dresses conservatively. Her chances of dating were further narrowed because of her controlling grandmother, who to everyone’s shock and surprise, left Nell millions when she died. With her newfound wealth, Nell now has two things on her mind: loosing her virginity to Riley Martin and starting a new life in New York. Riley is Wayloo’s former “bad-boy” who went off to college and returned as a successful historical restoration architect. There are only two people that Riley has ever loved: Nell and his son. He cannot believe that Nell showed up on his doorstep offering herself to him. Now he has to figure out how to let go of the grief that has been consuming him for the past two years, and re-open his heart to the only woman he has ever truly loved.

VIRGIN SEDUCTRESS takes a look at how societal views have a way of affecting the way we view real beauty. Nell is a beautiful woman, but she doesn’t feel that way because she’s not petite. It’s also interesting that everyone in town seems to believe she’s “stupid and desperate”. All the men think that she is so starved for affection that she will collapse at their feet in gratitude and worship their “maleness”. I enjoyed the way each character addressed their parental issues from their childhood. Riley had to deal with the lack of love he encountered while growing up, while Nell dealt with abandonment issues. Both characters had to learn the real meaning of forgiveness, not only for those who offended them, but for themselves.

J. M. Jeffries has written a page-turning love story that is fun. There were moments when I just had to laugh, and times that tugged at my heart-strings. If you are looking for a pick-me-up, you should pick up VIRGIN SEDUCTRESS.
