REVIEW: Faith, Monique, Cely and Shannon have been best friends
for years. Unfortunately Cely decides to take her life, leaving the
friends puzzled and wondering why. She has left each of them personal
letters, but the one thing she tells all of them is to enjoy each day to
the fullest. So with that in mind Faith, Monique, and Shannon decide to
take a summer long vacation to Hilton Head, SC. While there they
encounter new friendships, unexpected romances and activities they would
never imagine doing.
After her marriages ends in divorce, a man is the last thing on Faiths
to do list, She wanted to conquer the game of tennis. What Faith didn’t
count on was Shane, who would become her personal tennis instructor
Monique’s goal is to train and run in the local marathon. While training
she stumbles upon her brothers friend Lyle, who had a crush on in high
school, joins her for her daily jogs. They not only train for the
marathon, but they both realize they share the same feelings for one
another.
Shannon is the more out spoken one of the group. She decides from the
beginning to have a summer fling. But what she doesn’t realize is that
she has met her match with Adam the mechanic, or so she thinks.
All the characters add amazing richness and depth which helps the story
move along at a readable pace. The authors description and details of
Hilton Head really gave the reader a vivid picture of the beach, the
houses and local attractions in which the characters lived, and
socialized in the story.
I truly enjoyed reading WHAT A WOMAN WANTS. Ms Jackson has done an
excellent job giving her readers steamy summer romances, along with a
lot of drama. I also had a great time catching up with characters
from the author's previous novels,
Ties That Bind, A Family
Reunion, The Savvy Sistahs, and NO MORE PLAYAS.
I highly recommend this novel. It’s a good read to get your summer
started.
