CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE |4| Dianthia Lemons

REVIEW: Starr Avery is a beautiful woman who has a career she loves and friends who love her. She mentions to her physician a couple of problems she is having and gets some news she isn’t ready to hear. In an instant she feels that everything she has planned for the future will no longer be attainable and she doesn’t know how she will deal with the disappointment.

Kevin Dawson is the handsome, intelligent, Mack Daddy of them all. He goes through women like he changes his clothes and Starr is well aware of his reputation as is everyone else. He runs in the same circle of friends as Starr and is attracted to her but their friends have warned Kevin that he is not to add Starr to his conquests or their will be hell to pay. Both Starr and Kevin are attending the wedding of mutual friends in Las Vegas. Starr is depressed and in no mood to be happy for someone else so she makes herself happy at the hotel bar. The morning after can be something else when you can’t remember what happened the night before and this time what happens in Vegas doesn’t stay in Vegas.

WHEN LOVE COMES AROUND is well written and the characters' interaction is that of good and concerned friends who have been and will always be there for one another. When you are reading this story, you will be reminded of family and the things members do to protect each other from harm. Nick and Summer, Henry, Joan, Karen, Ava and others are supportive and there for the rollercoaster Starr and Kevin take them through. Only your real friend would tell you the truth about yourself and can call you on your behavior and you listen to them and try to change.

Victoria Wells once again has written a book that will have you engrossed, laughing, crying and ready to take off your earrings and shoes to fight. The health issue that Starr has to deal with draws out the emotions experienced by most women when they are faced with this particular issue. Starr Avery and Kevin Dawson will remind you of friends you know or want to know. They have to work on issues of trust and Ex.‘s who just won’t leave things alone. Through everything the love they have for each other and the support of family and friends get them through. Even a Mack Daddy can come in from the cold when the true love of his life comes around.
