REVIEW:
Dara
Girard tells a story of second chance love in the book Words of Seduction.
Suzanne Rand returns to her hometown of Anadale and finds herself face to face
with Rick Gordon, the only man she has ever loved. Suzanne and Rick must deal
with issues of social class, deceit, and love before they can possibly move on.
Suzanne Rand comes from the rich, respectable side of Anadale. She is now an
author who has lost the respect of some of her peers with the book that is a
spin off of the town murder that separated the rich from the poor. Rick has been
led to believe the worst of the Rands and vows to get revenge on them for all
that they have done to his family. But once the truth comes to life, will it be
too late for him to have his one true love?
The daughter of a judge and crowned Ms. Anadale, Suzanne was taught to follow
her father’s directions. Being the dutiful daughter that she is, Suzanne stays
away from the man that her father forbids her to see and marries the man he
picks for her. Now that her father is dead, Suzanne has returned to handle his
affairs and get enough money to live off of until she can complete her next book
deal. Rick Gordon has made a success of himself and has returned to Anadale to
complete the ultimate act of revenge. He not only took all that Judge Rand held
dear, now he has a plan to take his daughter and marry her. But somewhere along
the way Ricks plan backfires and he finds himself in love with Suzanne. Rick
soon realizes that unless a miracle happens, he will lose the love of his life
once she discovers the truth behind his actions.
The supporting characters in this novel are intriguing. They each add their own
unique feel to the story and affect the lives of the main characters. The
dialogue flows freely and keeps the reader engaged. The story takes place
in a make believe city of Anadale, North Carolina.
Dara Girard does a fantastic job with Words of Seduction. She
confronts the issue of social class and how the best laid plans can backfire on
you. She also teaches you not to judge a book by its cover. I absolutely took
pleasure in reading this novel.
