REVIEW: Nicole Collins is a successful writer who has sold the
movie rights to her first book to save her cousin’s life. Nicole’s world
is turned upside down when she realizes that her ex-husband will be
producing the movie and that she is being stalked by a deranged fan.
Nicole Collins originally vowed that she would never sell the rights to
any of her books, but her strong sense of family has made her eat those
words. Now she finds herself in Los Angeles, forced to work with Malcom,
her ex-husband, and trying to figure out why a deranged fan is
attempting to kill her and anyone associated with the film. Malcolm has
never stopped loving Nicole, and he hopes their working together will be
just what they need to rekindle their personal relationship.
YOU BELONG TO ME is a well written mystery with a touch of romance. Once
the main character moves to Los Angeles, you are immediately transported
into the inner workings of the film industry. Ms. Sergeant allows you to
venture into the lives of the characters and see the intricacies of
their relationships with one another; and how a lack of communication
can cause unnecessary and sometimes major problems. The continuous
dialog and indecisiveness about their past began to grate on my nerves
after a while. I felt like it would drag-on forever. I just wanted them
to sit down and discuss their issues like adults and move on, because
there were more important things going on.
This book is appealing to those of us who enjoy reading novels with a
mixture of mystery and romance.
