REVIEW: The second book of The Uncut Series features a popular couple of this dynamic series, Trent and Callie. We first meet them in the premier Black Diamond Series. The hero, Trent Harris is just a teenager in search of his family when we are introduced to him, and Callie is working for Ray Parker, one of the Black Diamonds. They fall in love and we follow this couple as they mature, and cultivate a love for each other. This book opens with Trent and Callie married with a beautiful daughter, Trinity, and successfully owning and operating Harris Technology, “one of the top computer and security companies on the globe”.

D Camille Maat, the prolific author of this series, doesn’t miss a beat as she chronicles the accomplishments Trent and Calista (Callie) have achieved up to this point, and the challenges they have to face. Trent, the teen technology genius is now an adult technology genius, and the trained leader of the Uncut Diamonds who is about the business of protecting and guarding his family. Likewise, Calista is Trent’s equal and an Uncut Diamond.  So, who dares to threaten the safety and well-being of the Harris family?

If you are a follower of this series, then you know the importance of family is a recurring theme in the Black Diamond, Black Land, and Uncut books. On the other hand, you know that very often trouble can come from within, and a family member can be the one that poses the threat. Look who pops up in this story. First, there is Joanna, Jordan’s mother who posed a threat in the Black Diamond series and had to be “dealt with”. Then there is the Dr. Smith/ Justin Black situation that can possibly cause a rift between Jordan and Trent. Let’s not leave out Chloe, Trent’s reclusive twin, who comes forward on behalf of Justin. This story is ripe with family conflict and unresolved family issues. It’s a good one that will keep you turning those pages as fast as you can read them. I won’t give away any spoilers, but once again, things are not as they appear to be. The mystery of the mushrooms, and Dr. Smith are semi-resolved, but followers of this series know that it’s only the tip of the proverbial iceberg.

It’s a family affair for real when the Black Diamonds and all their children appear in
THE GUARDIAN. It’s like a family reunion! We also get to see the Uncut Diamonds in action, and they are BAD!

All of this means nothing to you unless you have followed this series from the beginning. If by some chance you have slept this series, wake up and get with it! You are missing out on unsurpassed romance, mystery and adventure all in one great series.
