REVIEW: Sheri “Li’l  Bit” Thomas returns to Sunshine Beach because of her mother’s illness. Once her mother’s health improved, she decided to stay and open her own business. Someone tried to break into her restaurant, the police are called, and Sheri finds out about the neighborhood watch. When she attends the watch meeting, she learns that Lieutenant Deandre King is in charge of the committee. Deandre is the police officer who arrested Sheri for vandalizing her boyfriend’s car when she was sixteen. They work on the revitalization project together and develop feelings for each other. But Deandre’s son, DJ is against them being together. He does everything he can to separate them. It is only when DJ gets into trouble and Sheri saves him from jail time that he realizes that Sheri is a good person and is not trying to take his deceased mother’s place. She just wants to be a part of Deandre and DJ’s life.

Sheri recently returned to town and opened a restaurant. She loves her community but also admits that it has its problems. She decides to work with Deandre on the revitalization project in hopes of returning Sunshine Beach to the safe place where she grew up. Deandre is a widower with a teenage son. He moved to Sunshine Beach after his wife's death so his in-laws could help with his son. He heads the revitalization project with hopes that it will solve the problem of bored teenagers and any future vandalism.

A LITTLE BIT OF LOVE is a great story. The author has written a realistic view of the lives of ordinary people and how they handle situations that occur in their lives. The citizens of Sunshine Beach come together to save their community. All the characters in this book are believable and relevant, even Sheri’s Uncle Willie who looks out for her and her mom. Everyone has their own Uncle Willie in their family. I love this story. The two main characters, Deandre and Sheri have history. Interestingly, the man who arrested Sheri when she was a teenager is the man she fell in love with. Nice touch Ms. Williams!

I recommend
A LITTLE BIT OF LOVE because it is a good story with romance and family drama on both sides. Deandre and Sheri work through it despite complications that occur. Maybe the author will have a sequel. I would love to see Cousin Cora find her happy ending.
