REVIEW: I have been looking forward to the next Maverick Dynasty story, and SAVAGE REVELATIONS does not disappoint. As the youngest Maverick brother, Ziggy is always trying to prove himself, so when Stan and Duchess Crowne give him the opportunity to lead an undercover mission in Paris, he jumps at it. Better yet, he gets to choose his partner, and of course he picks Aria Meadows.
Their history is...complicated. Aria unknowingly matched with Ziggy through First Class Fantasy, only to find out her anonymous match was the younger Maverick brother who had been crushing on her for years. Add her past with two of his brothers, and you already know things will be interesting.
The undercover assignment aspect of the book had a lot of great components: forced proximity, fake identities, danger, and explosive chemistry. As a chemist named Fox and a designer named Rose, they are sent to uncover the truth behind a new club connected to human trafficking. What they aren't prepared for is becoming part of the experience themselves.
Aria's backstory is heart breaking. Learning about what she survived before explains so much about her fears and the walls she has built. Their first kiss is sensual and change them both. It is a vulnerable moment because Aria shares things from her terrible past. It touches a place in Ziggy that “had been empty for years”.
Once they are captured, the story becomes even more intense. The psychological manipulation and not knowing who to trust kept me interested. Even while living through unimaginable circumstances, Ziggy and Aria find moments of connection that are genuine. I also appreciated that Ms. Green continues to incorporate real-life conditions into her stories. This gives the characters even more depth.
Sherelle Green continues to balance sexy romance with gritty subject matter while moving the overall Maverick Dynasty story forward. Unfortunately, one chapter closes, but this does make way for the next era of the Maverick family. I highly recommend SAVAGE REVELATIONS.
