REVIEW: SINFUL RESTRAINT is Book #1 of The Primal Fetish Paradox (A multi-author trilogy with SINFUL CHAINS by Shae Sanders and SINFUL SUBMISSION by Stephanie Nicole Norris) . Club owner Cruz Crowne is the half-brother of Sinceer, Hendrix and sisters, Honey and Storm Crowne. He and his best friends who are more like brothers, formed The Paradox, a secret hitman organization known for precision and discretion. Cruz and Rev grew up together, and Rev is the tech guy and schedules everything. Storm is the voice of reason. Cruz is reckless but also the negotiator. Their friend, Titan, rounds out the crew. Sadly, Rev is killed during a mission that goes wrong and his sister, Santari Lake, wants to get to the bottom of what happened. Unbeknownst to them, Santari knows about The Paradox.
Months after Rev passed away, Santari visits the house that her brother left her, a stake in which the friends shared. She decides she wants to live in her brother’s space while she figures out what to do with his property and hopefully gets some answers from his friends. She has to face her childhood crush, Cruz. Cruz had feelings for Santari when they were younger, but he pushed her way due to his friendship with Rev.
Santari is full of emotions as she enters the space where her brother spent most of his time. It may have been the liquid courage she drank before visiting, or the fact that she is still physically attracted to Cruz. She is drawn to all three of his friends. Amid her grief and in a touching moment, she realizes that the friends are more like brothers who would comfort her in any way she needs it. She also learns that they lived an unconventional lifestyle as it relates to women and wants to take care of her in more ways than one.
This story focuses on how Santari and her brother’s friends bonded in their grief, physically and emotionally. The focus of Book #1 is Santari’s relationship with Cruz and how he, Titan and Storm introduces her to different ways to connect physically. Her curiosity got the best of her, and she wanted to experience more. There is also the gritty story about the lengths Cruz would go to, in order to figure out what happened to Rev. The book includes themes of erotica, crime, intrigue and non-traditional relationships. There is a lot going on and it may not be for everyone. However, Ms. Green crafts an interesting story.
